Pulsic Closes 2012 with Sustained Growth in Revenue

Strength of hierarchical design flow and methodology drives new contracts
as well as renewals and expansions

SAN JOSE, CA – March 7, 2013 — Pulsic, the premier provider of physical design tools for precision design automation, closed another year of double-digit revenue growth in 2012. The company completed renewal of several significant long-term customer license agreements with Pulsic’s major account customers in North America and Asia. Along with renewal agreements, Pulsic completed delivery of a new hierarchical design flow and methodology for a leading memory company. The new flow increased automation of many tasks that were previously undertaken manually, and put automation into the hands of design managers.

“2012 was a pivotal year for Pulsic,” said Mark Williams, CEO of Pulsic. “The strength of our business has enabled us to expand our investment in development and to continue to support our customers, allowing us to increase our focus on solutions where designers demand automation — the place and route for large, complex custom designs.”

In May 2012, Pulsic announced the Pulsic Implementation Solution™ that builds on the success of the company’s Planning Solution, which is already in production silicon across the globe. The Pulsic Implementation Solution provides designers with easy-to-use, guided flows to automatically implement precise, hand-crafted quality design layouts with the highest routing completion and accuracy on the market.

The products of the Pulsic Implementation Solution — Unity™ Custom Digital Router, and Unity™ Custom Digital Placer – provide automation where needed to deliver high-quality, precise results in custom designs. The Unity Analog Router is the first product developed by Pulsic specifically to address the productivity challenges associated with the lack of proven solutions for layout automation of device-level circuits. As Pulsic develops and introduces more analog solutions, Pulsic anticipates significant growth in this area of its business.

In September, Pulsic relocated its North American headquarters to a larger facility in San Jose, Calif., and the company increased its organization by 15%. This expansion enables Pulsic to better serve its growing customer base and to increase its R&D team in Bristol, UK.
